SIAG Book Liaison
Qualifications
- Member of SIAG
- Appointed by SIAG Chair
- Well-connected in their field and who is good at explaining the field to a non-technical person (the book group staff).
- Be able (at short notice) to suggest a handful of appropriate people to review manuscripts, identify likely prospects, and explain the scope of the field, hot topics, etc.
Responsibilities
- Respond with reviewer suggestions (or suggestions of whom to contact to get reviewer suggestions) when asked by an Acquisitions Editor
- Answer general queries from the Acquisitions Editor about the area of the SIAG (key subfields, hot topics, important developments, links to other areas of applied math and computational science)
- Suggest topic areas in which we should consider acquiring books (and possibly also likely authors).
