SIAG Book Liaison

Qualifications

  1. Member of SIAG
  2. Appointed by SIAG Chair
  3. Well-connected in their field and who is good at explaining the field to a non-technical person (the book group staff).
  4. Be able (at short notice) to suggest a handful of appropriate people to review manuscripts, identify likely prospects, and explain the scope of the field, hot topics, etc.

Responsibilities

  1. Respond with reviewer suggestions (or suggestions of whom to contact to get reviewer suggestions) when asked by an Acquisitions Editor
  2. Answer general queries from the Acquisitions Editor about the area of the SIAG (key subfields, hot topics, important developments, links to other areas of applied math and computational science)
  3. Suggest topic areas in which we should consider acquiring books (and possibly also likely authors).
