SIAM Washington-Baltimore Section

The SIAM Washington-Baltimore Section promotes the interests of applied mathematicians in academia, industry, and government in the metropolitan area of Washington, D.C. and Baltimore, Maryland. The Section regularly hosts evening events consisting of dinner followed by an expository lecture.

The Fall 2008 Meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 12, at the Homewood Campus of Johns Hopkins University. The lecture part of the meeting will be held in the Sherwood Room in Levering Hall at 8:30 p.m. Location and Parking Information.

The speaker will be Dr. Charles Meneveau, Louis J. Sardella Professor in Mechanical Engineering and Director of the Center for Environmental and Applied Fluid Mechanics at Johns Hopkins University. He will present a lecture entitled "Modeling turbulent flow over fractal trees using Renormalized Numerical Simulation."

You are cordially invited to attend the pre-lecture dinner with the speaker. The dinner will be held at Gertrude's Restaurant in the Baltimore Museum of Art, which is next to the Johns Hopkins campus. Location and Parking for Gertrude's Restaurant.
