Call for Nominations
Theodore von Kármán Prize
SIAM will award the Theodore von Kármán Prize at the 2009 SIAM Annual Meeting to be held July 6-10, 2009, in Denver, Colorado.
The Theodore von Kármán Prize is awarded every five years for a notable application of mathematics to mechanics and/or the engineering sciences made during the five to ten years preceding the award. The award will be given either for a single notable achievement or for a collection of such achievements.
Description of the Award
The award is in the sum of $1000. The recipient will receive a hand-calligraphed certificate and will be expected to present a lecture. SIAM will reimburse the recipient's expenses to attend the meeting and deliver the lecture.
