Patrick is the Chief Patent Strategist for Intel's Patents and Licensing (PAL) organization, where he and his team are responsible for offensive and defensive technical intellectual property assessments. Before joining PAL, he was the Director of the Wireless Computing Enhancement Architecture Lab (WCEL) at Intel's Cellular Communication Division in Chandler, Arizona. WCEL is defining Intel's next generation wireless architectures, including chipsets and software.
Prior to joining Intel, Patrick was the CEO of IsoQuantic Technologies, a high tech company providing cellular system engineering services and producing cellular middleware products. Before co-founding IQ Tech, Patrick was a system designer and performance analyst for Motorola's digital cellular networks and the IRIDIUM low-earth orbit satellite communications system. He has taught computer systems performance modeling and statistics at DePaul University's graduate school. Prior to joining Motorola, Dr. Reilly was a member of the design team of the first SONET-compliant multiplexer at Alcatel Network Systems in Raleigh, NC. Patrick was also an Assistant Professor at Southern Illinois University, Columbus College, and Augusta Technical Institute. When he is not tracking down wireless prior art, he can often be found hacking code on his Macintosh or PC developing analysis software for intellectual property portfolio management. Dr. Reilly is a referee for the IEEE Transactions on Communications, editorial board member of the Telecommunications Systems Journal, a member of the IEEE and MENSA.
